You are detecting connectivity problems with objects.
Problem
You are detecting connectivity problems with an object and want to visualize the path between the object and another object of the same type. You can create a path between any two virtual machines, hosts, logical switches, edges or logical routers.
Cause
Connectivity problems may be caused by either a configuration issue in the logical network, or a connectivity/congestion problem in the physical network.
Solution
- If you have detected a problem in the NSX-vSphere Topology dashboard, select the object.
- Navigate to the NSX-vSphere Object Path dashboard.
- Select another object of the same type.
- If you want to begin the search for an object in the Object Path dashboard, in the Objects widget, search for the object type by name or type.
- In the list of objects, select an object.
- Select another object of the same type.
Solution
The connection path between the two objects is displayed in the Logical Path widget and the Physical Path widget.
What to do next
If you have detected a configuration issue, look at the logical path to see if any alerts are open, and then use the traceflow action to troubleshoot further. If you have detected a physical network connectivity problem, look at the physical path to see if any alerts are open, and then use the VXLAN connectivity test action to troubleshoot further.
