For the VMware Aria Automation Plug-in, the system administrator is required to create two types of users.

  • VMware Aria Automation Plug-in admin user

  • VMware Aria Automation Plug-in end user

The categorization of users is achieved by assigning the required roles to each user.

Responsible for all administrative tasks including application configuration, end-point registration, user entitlement management, and so on.

VMware Aria Automation Plug-in end user

Uses the VMware Aria Automation Service Portal in ServiceNow.

VMware Aria Automation Plug-in approver user

Approve or rejects the catalog item requests.

Procedure

  1. Log in to ServiceNow as a system administrator.
  2. In the left pane, click System Security > Users and Groups > Users.
  3. Select the user and open the user record.
  4. In the Roles tab, click edit.
  5. Add the roles for the users from the Collection List and move the role to the Roles List.
  6. Click Save to assign the role.
  7. Click Update to save the user record.
  8. Repeat steps from 2 to 6 for each user to assign roles.
