You can configure your cloud extensibility proxy used for Automation Orchestrator and on-premises extensibility actions to forward logs to Operations for Logs Cloud.

Forwarding the logs from your cloud extensibility proxy can be useful for scenarios such as preserving your log messages for troubleshooting of the Automation Orchestrator deployment for longer than the log rotation allows for.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Log in to the cloud extensibility proxy virtual appliance command line over SSH as root.
  2. Configure the Operations for Logs agent of the cloud extensibility proxy virtual appliance to forward logs to the on-premises Operations for Logs instance by running the following command:
    vracli vrli set <log_insight_on_prem_hostname>
  3. Configure the on-premises Operations for Logs instance to forward logs to the Cloud Proxy.
    1. Log in to your on-premises Operations for Logs instance.
    2. Under Administration > Log Management, navigate to Log Forwarding and click Create New Destination.
    3. For the host address, enter the IP address used during the Cloud Proxy deployment.
    4. Specify that input queries to filter logs must be forwarded.
    5. Save the log forwarding configuration.

Results

Logs from the cloud extensibility proxy virtual appliance now appear in Operations for Logs.
