You can use several authentication methods with your deployment.
Authentication methods include local authentication, VMware Workspace ONE Access authentication, and Active Directory authentication. You can use more than one method in the same deployment and users then select the type of authentication to use at login.
The download page for VMware Aria Operations for Logs includes a download link for the appropriate version of VMware Workspace ONE Access. VMware Workspace ONE Access includes the following features.
- Directory integration to authenticate users against existing directories such as Active Directory or LDAP.
- Single Sign-On integration with other VMware products that also support Single Sign-On capability.
- Single Sign-On with several third-party identity providers such as ADFS, Ping Federate, and others.
- Two-factor authentication through integration with third-party software such as RSA SecurID, Entrust, and others. Two-factor authentication with VMware Verify is included.
For more information, see the VMware Workspace ONE Access documentation.
Local authentication is a component of VMware Aria Operations for Logs. To use it, you create a local user and password that is stored on the VMware Aria Operations for Logs server. A product administrator must activate VMware Aria Operations for Logs and Active Directory.
