To view the status of the events in VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS), you can create a private dashboard. When you create a dashboard for the first time, you add one or more widgets to the dashboard. Each widget is based on a query or one or more alerts.
Procedure
- To create a private dashboard with a widget based on a new query:
- Expand the main menu and click Explore Logs.
- Enter a query and click the Search button to view the results.
Select a time period and use filters for more specific query results. For more information, see Searching for Logs.
- Optionally, select a chart type for the widget that is based on the query.
For more information about chart types, see Chart Types for Logs.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click the three dots icon and select Add to Dashboard.
- In the Add Widget to Dashboard pop-up window, enter the name, type, and description for the widget to add to the dashboard. This widget is based on the query that you entered in the Explore Logs page.
- Under the widget details, click New Dashboard.
- Enter a name for the dashboard and click Add.
- To create a private dashboard with widgets based on alerts or saved queries:
- Expand the main menu and click Dashboards.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click New Dashboard.
- Enter a name for the dashboard.
- From the left pane, drag alerts or queries to the dashboard. Each alert or query that you drag corresponds to a widget, and the widget name and description are copied accordingly.
- Click Save.
- To create a private dashboard with a widget based on multiple alerts:
- Expand the main menu and click .
- Select multiple alerts and click .
- In the Add Widget to Dashboard pop-up window, enter the name, type, and description for the widget to add to the dashboard. This widget is based on the alerts that you selected in the Alert Definitions page.
- Under the widget details, click New Dashboard.
- Enter a name for the dashboard and click Add.
