The Carbon Black team is pleased to announce the general availability of the 8.9.0 App Control server.

This release includeds new functionality and addresses several defects. New functionality includes:

  • Content-based inspection using Yara rules

    Enables more granular control of your security policy in your environment. Yara rules are descriptions of malware samples that can help you detect and classify malware in files. In a rule, the criteria for the rule is defined and tags are specified. When the rule is enabled, tags are assigned to files that meet the criteria for the rule.

  • Managing Devices by Serial Number

    When managing devices, there is a new tab for Devices by Serial Number.
