You must generate an OAuth App from the Carbon Black Cloud console and use the generated OAuth credentials to establish a connection between the VMware Cloud services console and Carbon Black Cloud Workload appliance deployed in the vCenter Server. You can configure one appliance per vCenter Server. You can configure multiple appliances for your organization. If you are configuring multiple appliances, generate a separate OAuth App credentials for each appliance.

After the appliance is deployed, generate an OAuth App for the appliance.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. From the left navigation pane, go to Settings > Appliances.
  2. On the Appliances page, click Complete App Setup.
  3. Enter a name and a short description for your appliance. The name must be UNIQUE for your Carbon Black Cloud organization.
  4. Click Save.
The Carbon Black Cloud console generates the OAuth App ID and OAuth App secret key.

  5. Copy both of the keys. You use these keys later to establish a connection between the appliance and the Carbon Black Cloud console.
Note: You can use only one OAuth App ID and OAuth App secret key per appliance. Once you use the generated OAuth credentials for your appliance, you cannot use the same OAuth App ID and OAuth App secret key for any other appliance.

What to do next

Use the app ID and the app secret key to establish a connection between Carbon Black Cloud Workload appliance and the Carbon Black Cloud console.
