VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension installation creates a catalog to store all the Kubernetes templates that are later used to deploy Kubernetes clusters. Users with Organization Administrator role already have this right with their role configuration. However, if users, such as developers, who are not organization administrators want to create clusters, they require access to this catalog. Follow these steps to grant users access to the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension catalog.

Prerequisites

Verify that you have the rights to add new roles to VMware Cloud Director.

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware Cloud Director as a system administrator and from the top navigation bar, select Administration.
  2. In the left panel, under Tenant Access Control, select Roles.
  3. Select vApp Author and click Clone.
  4. In the Clone Role window, turn on the Modify Selected Rights toggle.
  5. In the Libraries section, select Catalog>View Shared Catalogs from Other Organizations
  6. Click Save.

Non-administrative tenant users have access to the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension catalog and can begin to create Kubernetes clusters.
