Server Details section

The Server Details section in the Kubernetes Container Clusters UI plug-in 4.0 details the following server configuration details:

Component Versions
Proxy Settings
Syslog Settings

You can also update the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server configuration, and perform a patch upgrade of VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension through this section.

Update the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension Server

You can update the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server in the Server Details section of the CSE Management tab in the Kubernetes Container Clusters UI plug-in 4.0.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have an existing configured VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server. For more details, see Configure the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension Server.

Procedure

In VMware Cloud Director UI, from the top navigation bar, select More > Kubernetes Container Clusters.
In Kubernetes Container Clusters UI plug-in 4.0, select CSE Management > Server Details > Update Server.

In the Update CSE Server window, select one of the following options:

Option	Description
Update Configuration	You can add changes to the existing server configuration entity. In the Current CSE Server Components, Current Proxy Settings (Optional), and Current Syslog Location (Optional) sections, edit the existing server configuration. Note: To restore the default values of the form, click Restore Previous. Click Submit Changes. Note: The server configuration changes are not applicable to clusters that already exist. It is necessary to manually update the server configuration associated with existing clusters. Restart the existing VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension Server vApp to apply the updated configuration.
Patch Version Upgrade	A patch upgrade of VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension works with a replacement model of VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension vApp. It is not an in-place upgrade of the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension vApp. Additionally, you can update the server configuration that accompanies the patch upgrade. During this process, tenant users can continue to use the Kubernetes Container Clusters UI plug-in, and perform cluster operations. The cluster operations queue in VMware Cloud Director until the patch version upgrade is complete, and the new VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension vApp then processes the operations. Manually stop and delete the existing VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server vApp Download a VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server OVA that has a higher patch version. For more information, see Download OVA Files. (Optional) In the Current CSE Server Components, Current Proxy Settings (Optional), and Current Syslog Location (Optional) sections, edit the existing server configuration. Note: To restore the default values of the form, click Restore Previous. Deploy a new vApp using the downloaded OVA. During this process, tenant users can continue to use the Kubernetes Container Clusters UI plug-in, and perform cluster operations.
