This section details the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server configuration process. In this process, you can enter details such as software versions, proxy information, and syslog location. This workflow automatically creates a Kubernetes Clusters rights bundle, CSE Admin Role role, Kubernetes Cluster Author role, and VM sizing policies. In this process, the Kubernetes Clusters rights bundle and Kubernetes Cluster Author role are automatically published to all tenants.

Prerequisites

Before you can configure the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server, ensure you have met the prerequisites detailed in VMware Cloud Director Setup Prerequisites and upload the OVA files detailed in Create Catalogs and Upload OVA Files.

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware Cloud Director and from the top navigation bar, select More > Kubernetes Container Clusters.
  2. Click CSE Management > Setting up the Configuration for CSE Server > Start.
  3. In VMware Cloud Director UI, in the Configure Settings for CSE Server window, in the Set Up Prerequisites section, click Start.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Set Configuration Parameters section, configure the following settings:
    Configuration Parameters Description
    CSE Server Components CAPVCD Version, Cloud Provider Interface (CPI Version), Container Storage Interface (CSI) Version, Bootstrap Cluster VM Sizing Policy (Optional), Github Personal Access Token (Optional)
    Optional: Proxy Settings NO_PROXY, HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY
    Optional: Syslog Location Host, Port
    Note: To revert to default configuration values, click Restore Defaults.
  6. Click Submit.
    Server configuration entity is successfully created.
