Learn how to upgrade the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server to a higher patch version.

A patch upgrade of VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension works with a replacement model of VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension vApp. It is not an in-place upgrade of the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension vApp. Additionally, you can update the server configuration that accompanies the patch upgrade.

During this process, tenant users can continue to use the Kubernetes Container Clusters UI plug-in, and perform cluster operations. The cluster operations queue in VMware Cloud Director until the patch version upgrade is complete, and the new VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension vApp then processes the operations.

Procedure

  1. Manually stop and delete the existing VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server vApp
