Container registries are collections of repositories, which manage the Docker images in your cloud. When you add your container registries to the VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions, they are registered to VMware Cloud Director.

Add a container registry

Note:

After the initial onboarding of VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions, set the user name and password for the default VMware Harbor Registry. VMware Cloud Director does not verify the validity of the VMware Harbor Registry credentials.

If you plan to add a local container registry from which Kubernetes clusters can pull content, you can skip configuring the default VMware Harbor Registry and add your own container registry.

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions from VMware Cloud Director.
  2. Click Container Registries.
  3. In the Hosts panel, click Add.
  4. Enter the necessary details and click Save.

Results

The registry is successfully registered, and you can see its relevant repositories in the Repositories panel.
