Request the VMware Cloud Flex Storage for your organization so you can leverage cloud storage for your SDDCs.

To request the VMware Cloud Flex Storage service to your organization, log in to the VMware Cloud console, search for the service, and then request the service.

After you receive an email from VMware stating that the service is ready, you must send one more access request to activate your first storage region.

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware Cloud Services using your VMware account at https://console.cloud.vmware.com.
  2. From the left navigation, select Services > My Services.
  3. In the upper-right, search for VMware Cloud Flex Storage.
  4. When you find the VMware Cloud Flex Storage service tile, click the Request access button on the lower-left.
  5. On the Request access page, click the Send request access email button. VMware will send you an email requesting information about your request.
  6. Once the service is added to your organization, the VMware Cloud Flex Storage tile appears under Services > My Services.
  7. Click the VMware Cloud Flex Storage tile.
  8. On this page, click the Request Access to VMware Cloud Flex Storage button.
  9. Next, select an AWS region for the service.
  10. Click the Request Access button. You will be notified when the service is ready in about two days.
If an administrator has already added VMware Cloud Flex Storage to your organization, you can see the service tile but your user account does not sufficient privileges to request access to the service. Your user account must have the Global Console Admin and Storage Admin roles added to request access to the service.
If you are an organization owner, you can add these roles to your user account by clicking the Access button, and in the Gain access to VMware Cloud Flex Storage dialog box, click the Edit Roles button.
From here, you can edit your user roles and add the two required roles. After you add the two roles, return to your organization and from the VMware Cloud Flex Storage tile, click Launch Service button. Then, click the Request Access button.
