To extend the monitoring capabilities of VMware Aria Operations, you install and configure additional integrations by activating certain management packs.
To monitor the overall health and configuration of VMware cloud management plane applications, you activate the VMware Infrastructure Health management pack. VMware Infrastructure Health creates accounts for each collector and cloud proxy by default.
To verify the availability of the end points that exist in your environment, activate and configure the Ping management pack in VMware Aria Operations. The Ping management pack is configured as an adapter instance for a group of IP addresses.
Activate the Ping Integration in VMware Aria Operations for Intelligent Operations Management for VMware Cloud Foundation
To configure the Ping management pack as a solution in VMware Aria Operations, you first activate it.
Procedure
- Log in to the VMware Aria Operations interface at https://<aria_operations_fqdn> with a user assigned the Administrator role.

In the navigation pane, click

Click the Repository tab.

Click the Ping tile.

On the Management pack details - Ping page, click Activate.

In the Activate management pack dialog box, click Yes.

Wait for the installation of the Ping management pack to complete.
Add Ping Adapters for the VMware Aria Operations Nodes for Intelligent Operations Management for VMware Cloud Foundation
After you activate the management pack, add ping adapters for the VMware Aria Operations nodes to verify the availability of nodes. You add two Ping adapters for the VMware Aria Operations - one Ping adapter for the analytics cluster nodes and another Ping adapter for the VMware Cloud Proxy appliances.
Procedure
- Log in to the VMware Aria Operations interface at https://<aria_operations_fqdn> with a user assigned the Administrator role.
In the navigation pane, click
.In the Accounts tab, click Add account.
On the Account types page, click the Ping card.
On the Add account - Ping page, configure the settings for the VMware Aria Operations analytics cluster nodes according to your values in the VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook, and optionally, enter a description.
On the Add account page, click Validate connection.
In the Info dialog box, click OK.
Click Add.
On the Accounts tab, verify that the collection status of the Ping adapter is OK.
Repeat this procedure for the VMware Aria Operations cloud proxy appliances with the values from your VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook.
Add Ping Adapters for the Clustered Workspace ONE Access for Intelligent Operations Management for VMware Cloud Foundation
To verify the availability of the clustered Workspace ONE Access nodes, you add a Ping adapter in VMware Aria Operations.
Procedure
- Log in to the VMware Aria Operations interface at https://<aria_operations_fqdn> with a user assigned the Administrator role.
In the navigation pane, click

On the Account types page, click the Ping card.
On the Add account- Ping page, configure the settings for the clustered Workspace ONE Access nodes according to your values in the VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook, and optionally, enter a description.
On the Add account page, click Validate connection.
In the Info dialog box, click OK.
Click Add.
On the Add account page, verify that the collection status of the Ping adapter is OK.
