You use the vSphere Client to start the vSphere Replication and Site Recovery Manager virtual machines for the management domain or VI workload domain.

Procedure

  1. Start the vSphere Replication virtual machine for the management domain or VI workload domain.

    1. Log in to the vCenter Server instance for the management domain or the VI workload domain at https://<vcenter_server_fqdn>/ui as [email protected].

    2. In the VMs and templates inventory, expand the vCenter Server tree and expand the data center for the workload domain.

    3. Find the vSphere Replication virtual machine in the inventory.

    4. Right-click the virtual machine and select Power > Power on.

    5. Accept the warnings that appear.

      Click Yes to the Solution vSphere Replication Management Server Extension manages the selected virtual machine. You should not modify the virtual machine directly. Use the management console of the solution to make changes. Do you want to proceed? message.

      Click OK to the Solution vSphere Replication Management Server Extension manages the selected virtual machine. You should not modify the virtual machine directly. Use the management console of the solution to make changes. Continue? message.

    This operation takes several minutes to complete.

  2. Start the Site Recovery Manager virtual machine for the management domain or the VI workload domain.

    1. Log in to the management domain vCenter Server at https://<management_vcenter_server_fqdn>/ui as [email protected].
    2. In the VMs and templates inventory, expand the management domain vCenter Server tree and expand the management domain data center.
    3. Repeat Step 1.c and Step 1.d for the Site Recovery Manager virtual machine.
  3. Verify that vSphere Replication and Site Recovery Manager are operational after the startup.
