You create a Tier-1 load balancer for use by the management SDDC components connected to the global NSX segment. The Tier-1 logical router must not be connected to the Tier-0 logical router.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the NSX Global Manager for the management domain at https://<active_nsx_gm_fqdn>/login.jsp?local=true as admin.
  2. From the drop-down menu at the top, select the recovery site NSX location according to your value in the VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook.
  3. In the navigation pane, click Networking, click Tier-1 gateways, and click Add Tier-1 gateway.
  4. Configure the following settings, and configure the remaining settings according to your VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook and click Save.

  5. In the Want to continue configuring this Tier-1 Gateway dialog box, click Yes.
  6. Expand the Service interfaces section and click Set.
  7. Click Add interface, configure the settings according to your VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook, click Save, and click Close.
  8. Expand the Static routes section and click Set.
  9. Click Add static route and configure the settings.

  10. In the Set static routes dialog box, under Next hops, click Set.
  11. Click Set next hops, configure the following settings, configure the remaining settings according to your VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook, click Add, and click Apply.

  13. On the Tier-1 gateways page, click Close editing.
