Before you migrate VMware Aria Operations, you must gracefully take offline the cluster and shut down the virtual machines.

Procedure

  1. Take the VMware Aria Operations nodes offlilne.
    1. Log in to the primary VMware Aria Operations node by using the administration interface at https://<aria_operations_primary_node_fqdn>/admin with a user assigned the Administrator role.
    2. In the navigation pane, click System status.
    3. On the System status page, in the Cluster status section, click Take cluster offline.
    4. In the Take cluster offline dialog box, in the Reason text box, enter Planned migration of the operations management applications, and click OK.
    5. Wait until all VMware Aria Operations nodes are offline and the Cluster status becomes Offline.
  2. Shut down the VMware Aria Operations virtual machines by using vCenter Server.
    1. Log in to the management domain vCenter Server in the protected VMware Cloud Foundation instance at https://<protected_vcenter_server_fqdn>/ui as [email protected].
    2. In the VMs and Templates inventory, navigate to the analytics cluster virtual machine folder.
    3. Right-click each analytics cluster virtual machine and select Power > Shut down guest OS.
    4. In the Confirm guest shut down dialog box, click Yes.
    5. Repeat these steps for all remote collector nodes in the protected and recovery VMware Cloud Foundation instances.
