If you deactivate the automatic rollback and you initiate a product upgrade, VMware Cloud Provider Lifecycle Manager creates multiple snapshots during the upgrade workflow in the form of checkpoints. If the upgrade fails, you can resume the workflow from a specific checkpoint.

Prerequisites

  • If you log in as an imported user, verify that you have the UPGRADE_PRODUCT and READ_ENV permissions.
  • To resume a product upgrade from a specific checkpoint, before initiating the upgrade, you must deactivate the automatic rollback. For information, see Step 1.

Procedure

  1. In the top navigation bar, click Tasks.
  2. In the Task ID column, click the ID of the failed upgrade task.
    The task page opens.
  3. Click Resume from checkpoint and select the checkpoint you want to revert to.
