If you cannot access vCenter using your VMware Cloud Services credentials in an SDDC where Federated Login has been enabled, you can use the Emergency Access to vCenter URL on your SDDC's Settings page.

Federated login depends on your SDDC's Enterprise Federation configuration and requires network access to your IDP. If either of these dependencies encounters an error that prevents you from logging in to vCenter using your VMware Cloud Services credentials, you can use the Emergency Access to vCenter URL (vcenter-url/ui/?idp=local) to log in to a vmc.local account such as [email protected].

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware Cloud Services at https://vmc.vmware.com.
You must have the VMware Cloud Services Organization Owner role to compete this workflow.
  2. Click Inventory > SDDCs, then pick an SDDC card and click VIEW DETAILS.
  3. Open the SDDC Settings tab.
  4. Navigate to Emergency Access to vCenter in the vCenter Information section and click the Emergency Access URL to open the vSphere Client. You can log in as [email protected] or any other vmc.local account. The default password for [email protected] is stored in the VMware Cloud Console when the SDDC is created and is not updated if a vSphere administrator changes it. See Unable to Copy Changed Password Into vCenter Login Page.
