In the Clusters section of the Order VMware Cloud on Dell EMC SDDC form, you can specify the number of clusters required for your SDDC.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Cloud Services Console at https://console.cloud.vmware.com/csp/gateway/discovery.
  2. Launch the VMware Cloud on Dell EMC service.
  3. Expand your SDDC and click Continue Order.
The SDDC order form opens at the section where you last left.
  4. Select one of the options based on your requirement:
    • Specify Clusters Now: Adds the first cluster, Cluster-1. You can select the number of hosts to be added. You can also add one or more clusters, if necessary.
    • Specify Clusters Later: Your hosts are placed into one or more default clusters. However, you can create clusters and move the hosts after your SDDC is live. See Add Clusters from Existing Hosts.
  5. Select the number of hosts you want to add to Cluster-1.
The minimum number of hosts required for a cluster is 3. The maximum number of hosts a cluster can accommodate is 16.
  6. Click Add Another Cluster if you need another cluster.

You can add multiple clusters as required to divide the number of hosts selected for the host type. The number of hosts that you want to allocate for each cluster differs according on your requirement. After you allocate all the hosts to clusters, the Add Another Cluster option is deactivated. For example, if you select 10 hosts and allocate 5 hosts to Cluster-1, you can accommodate the remaining 5 hosts by adding more clusters. However, after allocating all the 10 hosts to clusters, you cannot add clusters.

  7. Click Save and Continue.
