If you lost or forgot the password of the DSM local user, you can recover it through the Forgot Password link on the VMware Data Services Manager login screen. This initiates password reset via email.

Note: You must have configured an SMTP server for your VMware Data Services Manager installation to reset the local DSM user's password in this fashion. If you have not configured an SMTP server for VMware Data Services Manager, you cannot recover or reset the password.
Note: The Email ID registered for the DSM administrator local user must be a valid email address.

If you are an LDAP user, ask the LDAP administrator to reset your password.

For information about resetting a password for a local user, see Resetting a Local User's Password.
