In certain cases you might need to unregister and then re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin.

For example, there might be a situation when the VMware Data Services Manager plugin is removed from vSphere. In such cases, you can re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin.

Note:

DSM UI, DSM appliance, and service accounts are not affected when the DSM plugin becomes non-functional due to one of the above reasons.

Unregister and Re-register the DSM Plugin

When needed, use the following steps to unregister and re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:

  1. SSH into the DSM plugin VM.
  2. Run the following commands to unregister the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:
    sh /opt/vmware/tdm-provider/plugin/plugin_utility.sh unregisterPlugin
    
  3. Run the following commands to re-register the VMware Data Services Manager plugin:
    sh /opt/vmware/tdm-provider/plugin/plugin_utility.sh registerPlugin
