As a DSM administrator, you can change some of the DSM Provider VM settings, including DNS servers or NTP servers. You can also configure the DNS names for the Provider VM to enable access to the VM using the DNS name.

Use the VMware Data Services Manager console to perform this task. For more information, see Accessing the VMware Data Services Manager Console.

Procedure

  1. Select Settings from the left navigation pane.
  2. Click the System Settings tab, and click EDIT in the System Config pane.
  3. Configure or modify the following items.
    Property Name Value
    DNS Servers

    The IP address of the domain name server for the plugin VM.

    If there are multiple Domain Name Server entries, separate them by a comma.

    Note:

    Update of DNS servers requires a restart of the provider VM. Make sure to perform the restart.

    DNS Names FQDN for the plugin VM.

    If there are multiple domain names, separate them by a comma.

    NTP Servers The NTP server can be list of IP addresses or FQDNs. The plugin VM and databases must use the same NTP server.
    Note: Applying NTP setting results in a rolling upgrade of all database clusters with immediate effect.
  4. Click SAVE to apply the changes.
