Deploying a Physical Host

The Edge Compute Stack service allows deployment methods from both, USB drives and from out of bands management devices when available.

The Edge Compute Stack service is designed to work with servers listed in the VMware Compatibility Guide (VCG). When you register an Edge Compute Stack host, a list of supported VCG servers are visible.

The following sections provide a step-by-step guide for:

• Deploying a Server using a USB Drive

• Deploying a Server using Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI)

Caution:

Warning: When deploying a server using the Edge Compute Stack media it will wipe existing partitions and erase all data on the server being built.
