Host groups provide a way to create logical groupings of infrastructure for easier configuration and management. A group is recognized as any set of hosts that share the same group label. Labels are unique key/value pairs that are used to identify physical characteristics about the hosts it applies to.
After creating a host group, groups can be managed from the Groups page in the Edge Compute Stack service user interface. From this page, you can edit or delete groups and investigate group members.
To investigate the status of an entire group of hosts, click the number indicating how many hosts belong to that group. It redirects you to the Hosts page with a filter applied to only show that group. From the Hosts page, the host status is visible. Similarly, clicking the number associated with the amount of alerts a host has, redirects to the Alerts page filtered for only the hosts that are members of that group.
