You can store the password for an encrypted virtual machine in your Mac's Keychain password management system at any time. Mac Keychain remembers the password for you.

You can store the encryption password in the Keychain password management system when you first encrypt a virtual machine. See Encrypt and Restrict a Virtual Machine. You also have the opportunity to store the encryption password in the Keychain password management system every time you are prompted for the encryption password.

Prerequisites

  • Suspend or power off the virtual machine.
  • Verify that you have the password for the encrypted virtual machine.

Procedure

  1. Select Window > Virtual Machine Library.
  2. Select a virtual machine in the Virtual Machine Library window and click Settings.
  3. Select the Remember Password check box.
  4. Type the password for the virtual machine.
  5. Click OK.

Results

The password for the encrypted virtual machine is stored in Keychain.
