You can upgrade to a new version of Fusion in several ways. Use these procedures to upgrade Fusion. Upgrade Fusion with AutoupdateFusion has a built-in software updater that checks for updates to Fusion and VMware Tools and downloads and installs the updates. Upgrade Fusion From a DownloadIf you have an earlier version of Fusion, you can upgrade to the current version by manually downloading the Fusion disk image from the VMware Web site. Upgrade Fusion to a Fully Licensed Version After the Evaluation PeriodTo continue using Fusion after using a free evaluation version or after an existing license has expired, you must purchase a license on the VMware Web site. Upgrading VMware ToolsYou can upgrade VMware Tools manually, or you can configure virtual machines to check for and install newer versions of VMware Tools. Uninstalling FusionUninstalling Fusion does not modify existing virtual machines.
