v1.0.0

Release Date: April 14th, 2023

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the VMware GemFire ® Management Console™, a new user interface (UI) for VMware GemFire, the in-memory distributed data store. The GemFire Management Console is an intuitive and easy-to-use tool that simplifies cluster management across all GemFire offerings, including VMware GemFire, VMware GemFire for TAS, and VMware GemFire for Kubernetes.

With the VMware GemFire Management Console, managing a fleet GemFire clusters has never been easier. The new GemFire Management Console offers capabilities to simplify operations, diagnostics, and other management responsibilities. Whether users are creating and managing regions and disk stores, checking the general health of the clusters, reviewing log files, or deploying and executing functions, the VMware GemFire® Management Console™ makes managing GemFire clusters simpler.

We would also like to give a special thanks and remembrance to our friend and colleague Gideon Low. Gideon was an extremely talented and valued member of our team for over 18 years and was instrumental in shaping the GemFire Management Console. We will miss him dearly, but his legacy will continue to inspire us in our work and our lives. You can read more about Gideon here.

Known Issues

If you connect to a cluster with cluster security (Username/Password or Authentication Token) and SSL/TLS information (Keystore and Truststore Files and passwords), and you do not choose to save the cluster security and SSL/TLS information, you cannot update cluster security or SSL/TLS information using the Update Cluster Credentials or Update SSL/TLS Information actions on the Clusters Dashboard after your session expires or you log out and log back in.

Workarounds

You can update cluster security and SSL/TLS information in the following ways:

Option 1

  1. From the Clusters Dashboard, click the cluster Nickname to open Cluster Details.
  2. Provide correct SSL/TLS Information and configured cluster security (Username/Password or Authentication Token) to connect and manage the cluster.

Option 2

  1. Remove the existing cluster.
  2. Reconnect the cluster and provide the updated credentials and SSL/TLS information.
