When you install a new version of VMware GemFire software on an existing VMware GemFire system, keep the previous version available until the system upgrade has been completed and verified.
Installing VMware GemFire
Option 1: Install VMware GemFire from a Compressed TAR File
Follow the instructions in Windows/Unix/Linux—Install VMware GemFire from a Compressed TAR File to install and configure VMware GemFire on every physical and virtual machine where you will run VMware GemFire.
Option 2: Install VMware GemFire from an OVA
Install VMware GemFire on vSphere from an OVA.
In a browser, open the VMware Tanzu GemFire for vSphere page in the VMware Marketplace.
Log in to the VMware Marketplace.
Near the bottom of the page, click Download to download the OVA.
To deploy the downloaded OVA, follow the instructions in Deploy an OVF or OVA Template in the VMware vSphere product documentation.
Obtaining VMware GemFire from a Maven Repository
