The Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) helps to improve HCX products and services, to identify and fix problems, and to develop best practices and procedures for deploying and using HCX.
For sites activated locally, participation in the CEIP is provided by default. With CEIP, HCX periodically collects technical information about your organization's use of HCX and its services and provides that information to VMware. This information does not personally identify any individual.
For HCX sites participating in CEIP, perimeter firewalls must allow connections to vcsa.vmware.com. See Network Port and Protocol Requirements.
Connected Mode sites and air-gap sites do not participate in the CEIP. Connected mode sites require a connection to VMware and use that connection to collect telemetry information. Air-gap sites activated in either Local mode never transmit information to VMware. For more information, see Activating New HCX Systems.
