If more than one webcam, microphone, or speaker is connected to the client computer, and the remote desktop supports multiple device redirection with the Real-Time Audio-Video feature, you can use all the webcams, microphones, and speakers connected to the client computer in the remote session. If a default microphone is configured on the client computer, it is reflected in the remote session.
For administrators - this feature is supported with remote desktops that have Horizon Agent 2209 or later installed. It is also supported with published desktops and applications based on multi-session hosts that have Horizon Agent 2209 or later installed. For complete system requirements, see System Requirements for Real-Time Audio-Video.
For end users - whether you can use more than one webcam, microphone, or speaker with the Real-Time Audio-Video feature depends on how an administrator has configured the remote desktop.
Following are tips for using more than one webcam, microphone, or speaker with the Real-Time Audio-Video feature.
- When you connect to a remote session, the Real-Time Audio-Video feature redirects all webcams, microphones, and speakers currently connected to the client computer. You can use device selection controls in the remote session to switch between devices.
- If you have configured a preferred webcam, microphone, or speaker, the preferred device is used in the remote session.
- If a default microphone is configured on the client computer, it is reflected in the remote session.
- If you disconnect a webcam, microphone, or speaker from the client computer, the Real-Time Audio-Video feature deletes the device in the remote session immediately.
- The display name of a redirected device is the actual device name.
- You can use multiple redirected devices simultaneously in a remote session.
