You can configure Workspace ONE UEM to create a custom device friendly name for Horizon Client to iOS device users.

Due to Apple’s privacy policy change, starting with iOS 16 the iOS client will not be able to get the device friendly name from Apple, but instead, a general name such as "iPhone" or "iPad".

To address this change, the VMware iOS client now allows the administrator of Workspace One UEM to create and define a friendly device name for the device. The Intelligent Hub installed on the client device will send this new configuration to the client. The iOS client can parse it and then send the result as the iOS device friendly name to the broker. This friendly name can be used by the customer to decide whether the device should be granted access to the server.

For details on the policy change, see https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/entitlements/com_apple_developer_device-information_user-assigned-device-name.
