When using HTML Access on a mobile device, you can enter trackpad touch mode to easily navigate the user interface elements in a remote desktop or application. In trackpad touch mode, the screen of the mobile device functions as a trackpad with a mouse pointer that you can move around the remote desktop or application.

Using Trackpad Touch Mode

On a mobile device, you can click the touch mode icon at the top of the sidebar to toggle between touch modes:

  • Native touch mode (fingertip icon) is the default mode that allows you to navigate around a remote session using standard touchscreen gestures. For more information, see Gestures in Native Touch Mode.
  • Trackpad touch mode (trackpad icon) allows you to use the screen of the mobile device as a full-screen trackpad, with a mouse pointer that you can move around the remote desktop or application.
Note: The ability to switch between touch modes is available only on mobile devices. On desktop devices, native touch mode is the only touch mode supported.

Gesture Help

To display onscreen help on the types of touch gestures you can use, click the Open Menu toolbar button at the top of the sidebar and click Gesture Help.

Soft Keyboard

To call out or close the soft keyboard, do one of the following:

  • Click the keyboard icon at the top of the sidebar.
  • Tap the screen with three fingers.

Mouse Pointer

In trackpad touch mode, you can touch and drag anywhere on the screen with one finger to move the mouse pointer around the remote desktop or published application. The screen becomes a full-screen trackpad.

Clicking

You tap to click a user interface element with the mouse pointer.

You double-tap to double-click a user interface element.

Right-clicking

To right-click, tap with two fingers on the screen at the same time.

Scrolling and Scrollbars

To scroll around a remote desktop or application, drag with two fingers. The content under your fingers moves in the same direction as your fingers.

To use a window scrollbar, use one finger to drag the scrollbar. The content in the window moves in the opposite direction to your finger.

Window Resizing

Touch and hold one finger at the corner or side of the window and drag to resize.

  • Trackpad touch mode is not supported in multiple-monitor mode.
  • You cannot use touch gestures to zoom in or zoom out while in trackpad touch mode.
