When you upgrade using Upgrade Coordinator, you can select to perform a
One Click Upgrade, where everything is upgraded during one upgrade session. Or you can select to Plan Your Upgrade, and customize which components are upgraded, and organize component objects into upgrade groups.
Upgrade Coordinator performs checks and displays relevant warnings and errors before and during the upgrades.
Upgrade NSX Manager Before Creating an Upgrade Plan You must upgrade the NSX Manager through its web interface before you can create an upgrade plan for the other NSX Data Center for vSphere components. If you are upgrading a cross-vCenter NSX environment, you must upgrade all NSX Manager appliances before creating the upgrade plan.
Plan and Start an Upgrade When you plan an upgrade, you have two options: the system can create an upgrade plan, which includes all components, or you can create a custom upgrade plan, and select which components are upgraded.
Monitor and Troubleshoot Your Upgrade Warnings and errors are displayed during the upgrade process. You might need to address problems so the upgrade can finish successfully.
Modify an In-Progress Upgrade Plan You can pause an in-progress upgrade plan. If an object upgrade is in progress when the plan is paused, the object upgrade continues until it succeeds or fails. Then the upgrade plan pauses. You can modify the paused plan (replan) or resume it.
NSX Services That Do Not Support Direct Upgrade Some NSX services do not support a direct upgrade. In these cases, you must uninstall and reinstall the services.
Post-Upgrade Tasks After all components are upgraded, complete all post-upgrade tasks.
