Preparing for a User-Defined Topology Migration

Before migrating a user-defined topology, you must prepare the NSX-V and NSX environments.

If you are doing an end-to-end migration, perform the following tasks:

• Preparing the NSX-V Environment for a User-Defined Topology End-to-End Migration
• Preparing the NSX Environment for a User-Defined Topology Migration
• Change the MAC Address of NSX Virtual Distributed Router

If you are doing a lift-and-shift migration, perform the following tasks:

• Preparing the NSX-V Environment for a User-Defined Topology Lift-and-Shift Migration
• Preparing the NSX Environment for a User-Defined Topology Configuration Migration
• Preparing Layer-2 Bridging for Lift-and-Shift Migration (This task is not needed if the migration mode is Configuration and Edge Migration.
