Understanding groups and settings

A group contains one or more settings, and a setting contains one or more parameters. Managed objects (systems discovered in the managed environment) become members of a group based on the matching criteria defined for the group.

• The VMware Smart AssuranceICIM core class for group is ICIM_Configuration, which is the parent of all group classes that VMware Smart Assurance Domain Managers use.

• The ICIM core class for setting is ICIM_Setting, which is the parent of all setting classes that VMware Smart Assurance Domain Managers use.

• The ICIM core class for managed object is ICIM_ManagedElement, which is the parent of all managed object classes that VMware Smart Assurance Domain Managers use.
