Although you can use the dmctl utility to override parameter values in most configuration files, your change might not take effect because a Domain Manager reads some parameters only at startup.

For parameter settings that cannot be overwritten using the dmctl or the sm_tpmgr commands, use the sm_edit utility to modify the settings in the appropriate configuration files and then restart the IP Manager. Parameter setting changes requiring a restart of the IP Manager identifies the parameters for which a restart is required.
