The CLI commands for IS-IS discovery is applicable only for IPv4 network. Discovery of IS-IS object in an IP v6 network is SNMP-based.
Because the standards-based IS-IS MIB is used by Juniper devices but not by Cisco devices, Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS uses SNMP discovery and SNMP polling to discover and monitor the IS-IS topology for Juniper devices, and uses CLI discovery and CLI polling to discover and monitor the IS-IS topology for Cisco devices. The CLI commands that are invoked for IS-IS discovery are identified in this section, and the CLI commands that are invoked for IS-IS monitoring are identified in the VMware Smart Assurance Network Protocol Manager Configuration Guide .
Network Protocol Manager for IS-IS establishes Telnet, SSH1, or SSH2 sessions to the Cisco devices and invokes specific CLI "show" commands to discover the following routing topology objects and their relationships:
-
IS-IS areas
-
IS-IS services
-
IS-IS networks
-
IS-IS interfaces
-
IS-IS neighbor endpoints
-
IS-IS adjacencies
The CLI show commands that are invoked for IS-IS discovery are listed in IS-IS discovery CLI commands for IPv4 network.
Command |
Description |
---|---|
terminal length 0 |
Prevents the Cisco device from pausing between multiple screens of output.
Note:
During the session, the Cisco device uses the terminal length value to determine when to pause during multiple-screen output. A value of 0 prevents the device from pausing between screens of output. |
show ip protocols summary |
Displays IP routing-protocol process parameters and statistics. |
show clns protocol |
Displays Connectionless Network Service (CLNS) routing-protocol process information (SystemID, Area address, IS-IS Type, IS-IS interfaces). |
show ip interface brief |
Displays IP interface status and configuration in a concise format. |
show clns neighbors detail |
Displays CLNS neighbor adjacencies (neighbor IP address). |
show ip protocols |
Displays IP routing-protocol process parameters and statistics. |
