You can specify different IP Availability Manager sources for Network Protocol Manager by performing the following two steps:
-
Remove the current IP Availability Manager source or sources by stopping the Network Protocol Manager and then restarting it with a startup command line that contains the --norestore option.
-
Add one or more new IP Availability Manager sources by completing the procedure in “Add an IP Availability Manager as a topology source” on page 67.
Including the --norestore option in the startup command line will start Network Protocol Manager without restoring any saved objects from its repository file. Repository files are located in the BASEDIR/smarts/local/repos/icf directory. This mode of startup deletes from the repository the topology and instrumentation objects that are associated with the current IP Availability Manager sources.
Because the Network Protocol Manager startup commands that are created during the Network Protocol Manager installation do not contain the --norestore option, you will need to do one of the following:
-
Temporarily modify the service startup commands by substituting --ignore-restore-errors with --norestore.
-
Create new service startup commands or new native startup commands that contain the --norestore option.
-
