What follows is an example procedure of specifying a different IP Availability Manager source. The procedure removes the current IP Availability Manager source or sources and adds a new IP Availability Manager source. Native startup commands that contain the --norestore option are included in the procedure.

To specify a different IP Availability Manager source:

  1. Go to the BASEDIR/smarts/bin directory in the Network Protocol Manager installation area and type one of the following commands to stop Network Protocol Manager:

                   sm_service stop --force ic-npm-bgp-server
    -or-
    sm_service stop --force ic-npm-eigrp-server
    -or-
    sm_service stop --force ic-npm-isis-server
    -or-
    sm_service stop --force ic-npm-ospf-server

  2. Consult “Add an IP Availability Manager as a topology source” on page 67 and add a new IP Availability Manager source.
