Network Protocol Manager uses Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and command line interface (CLI) to perform discovery on the supported devices in the managed IP network. Network Protocol Manager supports IPv4 and IPv6 discovery through SNMP (v1, v2c, v3) and CLI using Telnet and SSH.

Note:

Discovery and Monitoring of IPv6 network topology is not supported in EIGRP Manager, which is part of Network Protocol Manager.

Discovery and monitoring mechanism in IPv4 and IPv6 network lists the discovery and monitoring mechanism for both IPv4 and IPv6, along with the supported vendors.
