Default nodes and edges

Default nodes and edges for OSPF topology maps identifies and describes the default nodes and edges that may appear in an OSPF topology map. In the Map Console, you can also select Map > Map Legend to see a similar list.

Icon / visual indicator	Description
	Icon represents an OSPF area.
	Icon represents an OSPF service that is running on a routing device. The routing device may be a physical router, a virtual router that is implemented within a physical router or a switch, or one of the following router cards in a switch: Router switch module (RSM) Router switch feature card (RSFC) Multilayer switch feature card (MSFC)
	Icon represents an OSPF service that is running on an interface card in a switch.
	Icon represents an OSPF network.
	Straight line can represent an OSPF neighbor relationship or an OSPF virtual link. A straight line indicates a normal connection.
	Directed dotted line represents composition.

Note that your system administrator might replace the default map nodes with other map nodes that are preferred by your organization. In that case, use Map > Map Legend to see the definitions of your map nodes. Also, additional icons might display, depending on the underlying VMware Smart Assurance products and certified devices.
