SNC (Subnetwork connection) protection:

SNC protection is a path protection scheme that offers 1+1 protection for a given Subnetwork connection. There are two different protection types associated with the SNC:

• Fully protected: In this case the working and protected paths, referred to as Route, cover the complete SNC.

• Partial protection: Only a section of the SNC will have the protection. WDM-NG domain does not support this protection scheme.
