Overview of Multicast Manager functionality

The Multicast Manager provides root cause and impact analysis for multicast services running over IP networks.

The Multicast Manager works in conjunction with the VMware Smart Service Assurance Manager (Global Manager) and the VMware Smart Assurance IP Availability Manager.

The Multicast Manager:

• Imports the underlying physical, Level 2 and IP topology from the IP Availability Manager
• Discovers multicast entities and relationships, and creates multicast topology
• Monitors and analyzes multicast events, creating notificati
• Exports multicast topology and notifications to the Global Manager for display in the Global Console
