VMware Tanzu Mission Control provides a centralized management platform for consistently operating and securing your Kubernetes infrastructure and modern applications across multiple teams and clouds.
Tanzu Mission Control provides a data model for grouping your Kubernetes resources into a manageable hierarchy, and a policy engine for consistent and secure management of the clusters in your organization. Tanzu Advanced Edition provides the VMware Container Networking with Antrea for Tanzu Advanced container network interface (CNI) and load balancing services with VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer.
When you use the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid CLI to deploy a Tanzu Kubernetes cluster, a VMware Container Networking with Antrea CNI is automatically enabled in the cluster. Tanzu Advanced Edition provides additional CNI features with VMware Container Networking with Antrea for Tanzu Advanced Edition.
Formerly known as Avi Vantage, VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer provides a centrally managed, dynamic pool of load balancing resources on commodity x86 servers, VMs or containers, to deliver granular services close to individual applications. This allows network services to scale near infinitely without the added complexity of managing hundreds of disparate appliances. NSX Advanced Load Balancer provides comprehensive load balancing, ingress, intrinsic security, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB), DNS, and IPAM. NSX Advanced Load Balancer delivers application services beyond load balancing, such as application analytics, predictive autoscaling, micro-segmentation, and self-service for app owners, with integrations for on-premises or cloud deployments.
NSX Advanced Load Balancer uses big data analytics to analyze the data and present actionable insights to administrators on intuitive dashboards on the Avi Admin Console. Tanzu Advanced Edition provides you with a license for NSX Advanced Load Balancer Enterprise.
After you have set up the infrastructure and started deploying clusters, Tanzu Advanced Edition provides the tools that you need in order to build, run, and manage your Kubernetes applications.
Harbor is an open source, trusted, cloud native container registry that stores, signs, and scans content. Harbor extends the open source Docker Distribution by adding the functionalities usually required by users such as security, identity control and management.
Tanzu Kubernetes Grid includes signed binaries for Harbor, that you can deploy on a shared services cluster to provide container registry services for other Tanzu Kubernetes clusters.
You can use the Harbor shared service as a private registry for images that you want to make available to all of the Tanzu Kubernetes clusters that you deploy from a given management cluster. An advantage to using the Harbor shared service is that it is managed by Kubernetes, so it provides greater reliability than a standalone registry.
VMware Tanzu Build Service for Tanzu Advanced uses the open-source Cloud Native Buildpacks project to turn application source code into container images. Build Service executes reproducible builds that align with modern container standards, and additionally keeps images up-to-date.
It does so by leveraging Kubernetes infrastructure with
kpack, a Cloud Native Buildpacks Platform, to orchestrate the image lifecycle. The

VMware Tanzu Application Catalog for Tanzu Advanced provides a curated, secure, and automatically updated catalog of images.
VMware Tanzu Advanced Edition provides access to all of the VMware Spring Runtime.
VMware Spring Cloud Data Flow is an open-source toolkit that can deploy streaming and batch data pipelines to Kubernetes. The data pipelines are composed of Spring Cloud Stream or Spring Cloud Task applications. A streaming pipeline DSL makes it easy to specify which apps to deploy and how to connect outputs and inputs. The composed task DSL is useful for when a series of task apps must be run as a directed graph. VMware Spring Cloud Data Flow provides a CI/CD-centered approach to orchestrate and manage event streaming and batch workloads, with IoT and streaming analytics, event-driven architectures, direct acyclic data topologies, and more than 70 applications that are ready for integration.
