If you are running VMware Telco Cloud Automation 2.0.0 or 2.0.1 in an airgapped environment, edit the upgrade BOM files manually before starting the upgrade. This step is required because you cannot provide the Airgap server FQDN using the VMware Telco Cloud Automation Upgrade UI.

Note:
  • The upgrade process can take up to 45 mins.
  • During the upgrade process, you cannot use VMware Telco Cloud Automation for any operations.
  • Upgrade the VMware Telco Cloud Automation Manager before upgrading the VMware Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane.

Procedure

  1. Extract the upgrade BOMs from the downloaded VMware-Telco-Cloud-Automation-upgrade-files.tar.gz file.
This file contains two upgrade BOMs:
    • VMware-Telco-Cloud-Automation-Mgr-upgrade-bom for VMware Telco Cloud Automation Manager
    • VMware-Telco-Cloud-Automation-CP-upgrade-bom for VMware Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane.
  2. Open both VMware Telco Cloud Automation Manager and VMware Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane upgrade BOMS using any text editor.
  3. Find https://vmwaresaas.jfrog.io/artifactory/helm-registry and replace it with https://<airgapServerFqdn>/chartrepo/registry.
  4. Find all occurrences of vmwaresaas.jfrog.io/registry and replace with <airgapServerFqdn>/registry.
  5. Save the upgrade BOM files.
  6. Log in to the VMware Telco Cloud Automation web interface.
  7. Go to Administration > System Updates.
  8. From the Apply Service Update column, click Select File.
  9. Browse and select the corresponding upgrade BOM file of the newer release to which you want to upgrade.
  10. Click Upgrade.
