For the VMware Telco Cloud Automation release 2.2 or prior releases, if you have configured the ACC 100 device through the TCA host profile on ESX 7.x or prior release and plan to upgrade ESX to 8.0, then for the ACC 100 device to function as expected you must upgrade VMware Telco Cloud Automation version to 2.3 or later (RAN).

Prerequisites

Upgrade the TCA appliance to 2.3 or later (RAN) before upgrading the ESXi host to 8.0.

Procedure

  1. Uninstall the ibbd-tools driver applicable for ESXi 7.x by using the following command:
esxcli software vib remove -n ibbd-tools
  2. Upgrade the ESXi host to 8.0.
  3. Install the ibbd-tools driver released by intel for ESX 8.0 from Intel® vRAN Baseband Driver and Tools for VMware ESXi.
  4. Perform a full-resync on the cell site host configured with ACC100 using ZTP UI/API.
  5. Ensure that the custom config for ACC100 is updated on the device by using the following ESX command:
    /opt/ibbdtools/bin/bbdevcli.py -d -t /devices/ifec/dev0
/devices/ifec/dev0 is the ACC100 device path.
