To delete a tenant, you must reshare or delete the resources associated with the tenant.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Telco Cloud Automation.
  2. Click Authorization > Tenants.
  3. Click the vertical ellipse corresponding to the tenant you want to delete and select Impersonate.
Note: You may impersonate a tenant before deleting it. After you delete the tenant, the Telco Cloud Automation portal switches back to the default mode.
  4. Click the vertical ellipse corresponding to the tenant you want to delete and select Delete.
    The Confirm Delete page appears.
Before deleting a tenant, you have no action items to complete if:
    • No resources are associated with the tenant.
    • The resources associated with the tenant are fully shared.
    • The resources with full access are fully shared with other tenants.
Before deleting a tenant, you have action items to complete if:
    • The tenant has fully shared associated resources and those resources are not shared with any other tenant, do the following:
      • Delete the resources.
      • Reshare the resources with full access with another tenant.
      • Change ownership of the resource.
  5. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Share resource: Click the vertical ellipse corresponding to the resource you want to share and click Share. For more information on sharing, see Share a Resource with the Tenant.
    • Delete resource: Click the resource link you want to delete. The respective resource page opens. Click Delete on the upper-left corner of the page.
      • Delete a shared resource in use: When you try to delete a shared resource already in use, the Confirm Delete dialog box displays the Force Delete option. Selecting this check box deletes the tenant although it is in use.
      Note:
      • If the resource ID is not clickable, it indicates that you have not impersonated the tenant.
      • If the Delete button for a specific resource is greyed out, it indicates that certain action items must be completed. The action items vary for each resource based on its type and state.
A few examples of the action items that you will need to complete before deleting a resource:
        • Example 1: If a VNF is shared with the tenant and you are unable to delete the VNF, you will need to terminate the VNF instantiation and then delete it.
        • Example 2: If a CaaS cluster is shared with the tenant and you are unable to delete the cluster, you will need to undeploy the cluster and then delete it.
        • Example 3: If a partner system is shared with the tenant and you are unable to delete the partner system, you will need to disassociate the VIM and then delete it.
  6. Click Delete Tenant.
Note: After you delete a tenant, you cannot retrieve it.
