This section describes how to upgrade VMware Telco Cloud Automation from version 2.0.1 to 2.1

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that Telco Cloud Automation 2.0.1 components are activated.

  • Back up the Telco Cloud Automation Manager and Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane appliances. For instructions, see Backing Up and Restoring the System in the Telco Cloud Automation Deployment Guide.

  • Download the Telco Cloud Automation 2.1 Upgrade bundle from the VMware Downloads page.

Procedure

  1. Upgrade the Telco Cloud Automation Manager appliance. For instructions, see Upgrade to VMware Telco Cloud Automation 2.1.
    Caution:

When you back up and restore a Telco Cloud Automation 2.1 appliance, TCA-CP Minikube’s kubeconfig is not updated and Cluster operator resources are not restored. This results in the failure of operations on CaaS Clusters. Before you take a backup of the upgraded VMware Telco Cloud Automation 2.1 appliance, follow the workaround in KB 89083.

  2. Upgrade the Telco Cloud Automation Control Plane appliance. For instructions, see Upgrade to VMware Telco Cloud Automation 2.1.

What to do next
