The MPLS Monitoring Server uses SNMP to monitor the MPLS network and to execute periodic remote pings. As indicated in SNMP polling and periodic remote ping configuration and operation, the monitoring of the MPLS network is controlled by polling-related objects, and the execution of periodic remote pings is controlled by remote-ping-related objects. These objects are created on the MPLS Topology Server through the Polling and Thresholds Console and then copied to the MPLS Monitoring Server for execution.
